Every August, the roar of thousands of engines echoes across the Black Hills as riders make their pilgrimage to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. But getting there is half the fun — especially if you take the scenic route.

From the East
If you’re riding across I-90, get ready for big-sky views and plenty of classic tourist stops. It’s a straight shot to Sturgis, but you’ll be in no rush to get there.
CORN PALACE
You’ve probably heard of The World’s Only Corn Palace, but it’s worth a stop to see this small-town icon up close.
REDLIN ART CENTER
This free museum showcases Terry Redlin’s iconic paintings of rural life and wildlife, as well as featuring walking trails through a conservation park.
WALL DRUG
With art galleries, historic displays, 80-foot dinosaurs and 5¢ coffee, Wall Drug is the ultimate roadside attraction.

Badlands
Once the site of an ancient sea, the badlands are home to wildlife of all shapes and sizes as well as striking canyons, buttes and spires.
Bear Butte State Park
A sacred site for several tribes and a peaceful place to relax and reflect right before Rally chaos kicks off.
